Q: What is the Warranty for a Datamax E Class printhead?
A: The E Class printheads have a Warranty of 1 Year or 1 million linear inches, whichever comes first. This pertains to all Datamax printheads.
Q: What is the Warranty for my Datamax I Class printer?
A: The I Class has a Warranty of 2 Years or 2 million linear inches, whichever comes first. This does not include the printhead or platen roller. That Warranty is 1 Year or 1 million linear inches, whichever comes first.
Q: I recently replaced a bad printhead and now the main pc board is bad. How do you honor the Warranty for the existing printhead since the inches are not correct?
A: We would actually go by the printhead serial number and the customer’s invoice that shows the date of purchase.
Q: My E Class printer stopped working and I called your technical support department for assistance. I was told the printer is out of warranty according to the serial number and this would be a billable repair. Afterwards I found the original invoice and we have had the unit for only 8 months. How do you handle a situation like this?
A: Datamax will honor your Warranty as long as you can fax us a copy of your original invoice. If it is less than a year then we will cover the printer under Warranty at no cost to the customer other than shipping the unit to us.
Q: How can I tell how old my printer is?
A: You can tell how old your printer is by looking at the first 3 digits of your serial # on all Class printers. Example: I-Class serial# is 523XXXXX. The printer was manufactured on the 23 week of 2005.
Q: I purchased a new printhead 6 months ago and now it doesn’t print. Can I send it to you for Warranty purposes?
A: Yes. All printheads come back to Datamax under a Warranty Evaluation.
Q: Can I return a Power Supply to Datamax for Warranty or do I need to send the entire printer?
A: Only Datamax Authorized Service Centers – DASC – can return electronic parts for Warranty Repair.
Q: If I over-night a printer to you for Warranty purposes what is your turn-around time?
A: Our turn-around time is typically 3 days. There is a chance that it might be longer if there are any discrepancies found.
Q: Does Datamax pay for shipping on Warranty products?
A: No and yes. We pay for shipping back to you and that is “Ground” only. If a customer wants their product shipped by different means then they must cover that cost.
Q: What are the different warranties for all of the Datamax Product line?
A-Class - 1 Year/Unlimited Inches
E-Class - 1 Year/1 Million Inches
H-Class - 2 Years/Unlimited Inches
I-Class - 2 Years/2 Million Inches
M-Class - 2 Years/2 Million Inches (as of 1-1-07)
S-Class - 3 Years/3 Million Inches
W-Class - 5 Years/4 Million Inches
All Datamax printheads have a 1 year/1 million inch warranty.
